11 Days Uganda - Rwanda Wildlife, Primates & Murchison Falls Tour
Day 1 - Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi & Afternoon Boat Ride
Our tours representative will pick you up and transfer you to Kabale. You will have lunch en route and then later you will go for an evening boat ride along Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi lies in south western Uganda between Kisoro and Kabale close to the border with Rwanda. Dinner and over night at Lake Bunyonyi Overland Camp or Arcadia Cottages or Bushara Island Camp
Day 2 - Transfer to Rwanda
After breakfast you will drive to Rwanda. You will arrive in time for lunch. Dinner and overnight at the lodge
Day 3 Gorilla tracking
After breakfast you will go for gorilla trekking. After the trekking, if time allows lunch at Ruhengeri and an excursion to explore the beautiful lakes in the region (Lake Bulera & Ruhondo). Dinner and Overnight at Kinigi
Day 4, Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
After a morning breakfast, you will transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park. En route visit the new Visitor's Interpretive Centre to give you more information about the park such as number of primate species found in the park, types of bird species and other tourist activities carried out with in the Park. Proceed and check into your Hotel for Lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for Colobus Monkey trekking. To be able to do the activity, you will have to hiking through lush forests, endless, green tea fields while taking the stunning views of the surroundings. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura guest House for Budget/Nyungwe forest Lodge for Luxury
Day 5, Chimpanzee trekking
After breakfast, report to the park headquarters in Nyungwe forest for briefing before going for chimpanzee tracking. However, it is advisable to organize packed lunch and plenty of water prior to this expedition since it can sometimes last over 6 hours. In the forest, you will not only see chimpanzees to but also variety of animals and birds like the Rwenzori Turacco, black and white casqued horn bill, colobus monkeys - sometimes as many as 400 in a group. Return late in the afternoon. Return for dinner and Overnight at Gisakura guest House for Budget/Nyungwe forest Lodge for Luxury
Day 6: Transfer from Rwanda to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Morning breakfast, hit the road and drive from Rwanda to Uganda. Drive through the Ishasha sector to Queen Elizabeth National Park after, lunch en-route, enjoy the drive in the Inshasha while spotting out the tree climbing lions. Expect animals like the tree climbing lions, antelopes, elephants and others. You will reach in the afternoon.
Dinner and overnight at mweya safari lodge / Queen Elizabeth hostel.
Day 7, Game drive and Launch cruise
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will set out for the game drive in search for early risers in the Kasenyi area. The park has diverse eco-system of grassy plains, rivers, crater lakes, forests, swamps and lakes. These are a home to various types of wildlife and a game drive in Queen Elizabeth will reward you with views of animals such as lions, leopards, forest hogs, buffalos, elephants, waterbuck, Uganda Kob and other types of antelopes. Return to your Lodge for lunch and after, go for a 3 hours launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This cruise will let you pass through a place of the highest concentration of hippos and you may also see many animals drinking at the water’s edge. The cruise also offers good platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya safari lodge/ Jacana safari Lodge for Luxury or Hippo Hill camp for midrange or Simba safari camp/Mweya Hostels for budget
Day 8, Morning Game Drive &Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Start your day by having a heavy breakfast at your Hotel in Kampala. The guide will then come and pick you up and transfer you to Murchison Falls National Park which is Uganda’s largest park. The park is a habitat for animals like elephants, buffaloes, giraffe sand a variety of antelopes. En route, you will visit the famous Luweero triangle and also stop over for lunch in Masindi Town. Proceed and reach the famous which was named after the magnificent Murchison falls. Upon arrival, Visit the Top of the falls where water thunders through different rapids from a 7-metre gap to fall over 40 meters Gorge below. Dinner and overnight stay at Paraa safari Lodge/ Nile Safari Camp for Luxury or Sambiya River Lodge for Mid range or Red Chill’s camp for Budget
Day 9, Game drive and launch cruise along the Albert Nile
After an early breakfast, you will go for a game drive on the Northern Bank of River Nile. The activity takes about 3-5 hours and Wildlife in the Park includes elephants, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, Hartebeest, Uganda kobs, Oribis and waterbucks. After the drive you will return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for a launch cruise on the Albert Nile which will give you an exciting panoramic view at the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls. Along the cruise, you will encounter crocodiles, hippos, and birds on the river banks like kingfisher, cormorants, bee-eater and the rare shoebill stork. Dinner and overnight at Paraa safari Lodge/ Nile Safari Camp for Luxury or Sambiya River Lodge for Mid range or Red Chill’s camp for Budget
Day 10, Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Very early in the morning, you will take your breakfast and then drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Have Lunch in Mbarara town and after you will enter the Park with a game drive enroute which will enable you to see animals like zebras, topes, elephants, elands, impalas, buffaloes and antelopes. Dinner and overnight stay at Mihingo Lodge/Mantana luxury tented for Luxury or Arcadia cottages for mid range or Rwonyo campsite for Budget.
Day 11, Hyena walk and transfer back to Kampala
Early morning you will have breakfast and after go for the hyena walk with in the Park. This is a guided walk and you will be escorted by an official from the Uganda wildlife Authority for security purposes and to provide you with more information about the Park and the trail. Start on your journey to Kampala with Lunch enroute. You will also make a stopover at Equator at Kayabwe for water experiments and photographs, Royal drum Village at Mpambire for souvenirs. Proceed to Entebbe and drop off at the airport.
